With an upgrade to their IT infrastructure and ERP systems, clothing manufacturer Beechfield Brands is ready to make the most of their growth opportunities.
Beechfield Brands is a well-established supplier of quality re-brandable headwear and bags, known for its ethical principles, commitment to design quality, and unrivalled fabric innovation. They work with leading brands to supply collections of classic best-sellers, reworked favourites, and fresh new products based on contemporary styles and future trends.
With huge potential for business growth, a growing client base and expanding product portfolio, business leaders at Beechfield Brands knew that they had to upgrade their IT systems to really make the most of these growth opportunities. Their current setup was starting to feel the strain of increasing orders and was standing in the way of their expansion.
Also, they knew that as they grew, the risks from cyber-attacks and the potential for costly data losses would only go up.
Business owner Roger McHugh and IT Manager Anne Kupschus connected with our expert consultants to discuss their challenges and plans for future growth. They were looking for a professional, proactive IT partner who understood their business aspirations and would support them on their growth journey.
We took the time to really get to know the Beechfield Brands works, so we could identify the best next steps and develop an action plan to deliver the right solution.
There was a clear requirement to upgrade their ERP systems and IT infrastructure. They wanted to work with an IT partner who would offer flexibility and be responsive to their needs. It was important for them to have expert consultants available to collaborate with their in-house IT person on a day-to-day basis.
A lot of Beechfield’s staff also have to work remotely so they needed a network to support this that was secure but also easily accessible.
After assessing their business’ needs, we created a prioritised work plan that would sort out all these problems.
All of Beechfield’s existing servers were swapped out for new Dell hardware and we upgraded their internet to a resilient high-speed solution.
We set up a completely secure new infrastructure that included two-factor authentication; a managed next-generation SonicWall firewall for remote access and network perimeter security; and Kaspersky endpoint protection and mobile device management. We’re also constantly checking for new threats with internal and external vulnerability analysis to identify and report on security weaknesses. On top of this, they’ve also now got a robust, cost-effective cloud-based disaster recovery solution using shared multi-tenant capability in a UK data centre – eliminating the need for idle replica hardware.
To save the annual headache of dealing with countless different licence renewals, we consolidated everything into one easy-to-manage place. And going forward, we’ll still be supporting Beechfield with regular IT and business reviews and help for future planning.
With the help of Thinc, Beechfield Brands have successfully upgraded their ERP systems and IT infrastructure, and are now set for the next step of their growth journey. These new solutions have not only improved their communications, collaboration and security but also fostered a successful ongoing partnership with their in-house IT staff.
Beechfield Brands plans to continue this partnership, with regular IT and business reviews to support future planning and make sure their business is successful and can continue to grow.
