Celebrating and supporting north-west England’s businesses

Thinc is proud to be a sponsor of the Insider North West International Trade Awards 2024 – just one of the ways we’ve been supporting the region’s business community.

At Thinc we’re proud to provide SMEs in the north west with IT services that can power their growth. While we are unquestionably a UK-wide and international company, with offices in Manchester, Newcastle, Cranfield and Toronto, we have built strong links in the north west of England that give us a deep understanding of what makes the region’s organisations tick.

That’s why we’re delighted to be one of the sponsors of this year’s Insider North West International Trade Awards, putting the spotlight on the best exporters in the region. It’s just one of many ways that Thinc supports the region’s business community – read on to find out more.

Global success stories

The Insider North West International Trade Awards celebrate the best of the region’s businesses that are focused on international trade. As a growing business that has recently taken its own first steps into global territory (with the opening of our Toronto office, delivering our IT services in Canada), it’s an honour to be sponsoring the Emerging Exporter Award.

The nominees have been announced, with categories for enterprises of all sizes. The awards ceremony taking place at Manchester’s Midland Hotel on Wednesday, 4 December – find out more about attending at the Awards event page.

Fast-growing and innovative new businesses

According to the UK government, the north west of England saw the biggest rise in the number of businesses of any region last year. The north west is a truly inspiring place to do business.

For the past few years we’ve been honoured to help share some of these stories as sponsor of Insider’s North West’s Most Exciting Companies list. This year’s 30 names included a manufacturer of cruelty-free toiletries, a warehousing and distributor of home energy alternatives, a biotech producer of proteins – and even a brewery. An incredible range of pioneering businesses.

For inspiration, read more about the list on the Insider website – or if you’re looking for business technologies to supercharge your own growth, talk to us.

Inspiring the next generation

At Thinc we believe businesses are part of the wider community and should take an active role in delivering positive impacts. We’re keen to play our part in providing opportunities and ensuring the region has the skills for a sustainable future.

We’re particularly passionate about providing opportunities for the next generation of IT professionals, which is why we offer apprenticeships and a graduate programme to bring the next bright minds through. You can read more on our careers page, or watch our short chat with our Sage graduate Joel.

Of course, helping young people to understand their opportunities and visualise their future can happen much earlier than at the point of leaving college or university. That’s why we visit schools in the region to meet children and teachers in person, such as our recent talk at St Bede’s College in Manchester, where some of our emerging talents told the class about the kind of careers available within an IT company.
