What’s the difference between Sage 50 and Sage 200?

Sage 50, or Sage 50Cloud Accounts, is a financial accounting software system. Sage 50 allows you to manage day to day accounting such as invoicing, cash flow, inventory tax, payroll etc with ease. You can use Sage 50 to invoice customers and pay your suppliers, and to manage your VAT and accounts.

With Sage 200, or Sage 200Cloud, you can do so much more. Sage 200 is a fully integrated business management software solution. You can use Sage 200Cloud to manage your accounts, customer relationships, products and supply chain.

Unlike Sage 50, you can also use Sage 200 analytics to create your reports and analyse your business performance from a single view. This insight will help you to observe trends and make intelligent forecasts. In doing so, you can prepare your business for any seasonal change – something that is vital in today’s changing economy.

When do I upgrade to Sage 200Cloud?

If your business is growing and you are seeing a positive incremental increase in revenue, market share and potential year on year then it maybe time to consider upgrading to Sage 200Cloud. Sage 200Cloud has greater capabilities, functionality, and flexibility as a system, allowing you to capture so much more data on sales, trends, and share information across departments (whether that be around your office, to workers at home, or even employees in the field).

Sage 200Cloud is deployed in a server environment. Whether that be on-premise or via the cloud. This means that you can have access to the system from anywhere, anytime, in any location with internet connectivity – helping you to stay in tune with your business needs and provide better more effective services to your customers.

My accountant uses Sage 50 Accounts how do I encourage them to use Sage 200Cloud?

By nature of the product, Sage 200Cloud is used by businesses that no longer rely upon (or wish to pay for) the day-to-day finance management services of their external accountants. As such, Sage 200Cloud does not need to be used by your accountants – moreover, it is important that your accountants understand what it is and how it will benefit your business. As such, with a little product knowledge, external accountants will have no problem when it comes to providing you with audit services and financial planning.
