Thinc insights
The Expert Support Directory lists suppliers with expertise in helping businesses break into international markets.
Thinc has been included on the Expert Support Directory from the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), a listing of specialist suppliers who can guide UK businesses with their international growth plans.
Thinc is one of only 363 suppliers across a range of professional services listed as a supplier. With a focus on businesses seeking expansion into North America, we have a unique perspective, with expertise in scalable business solutions complemented by our own experiences in expanding into Canada.
Multiple currencies, different taxation regimes, complicated inventory modifications and the correct deployment of workforce resource – these are all challenges that come with expanding overseas.
Thinc’s expertise in deploying and optimising enterprise resource planning (ERP) and finance systems such as Sage 200, Sage Intacct and SAP Business One, along with our flexible global managed IT services packages, can help provide the scalability, security and flexibility needed to launch in a new market. We’re here to consult, and support in bespoke systems and services, home and away.
We’ve supported a whole range of different businesses in their expansion overseas, such as a recruitment agent, a beverage manufacturer and a pharma-medical firm.
“We’re delighted to be listed on the Department for Business and Trade’s Expert Support Directory, supporting SMEs with international business growth. Businesses that export overseas will often need to manage multiple currencies and new tax legislations; with our expertise in enterprise resource planning systems, along with our flexible managed services packages and our own experience of international expansion, we’re there to help lighten the load for businesses”.
Richard Stathers, Operations Director, Thinc
The DBT is particularly helpful for SMEs who may not have any experience in expanding into foreign markets. Through learning to export, markets and services insights, UK businesses are provided with valuable information to conduct market research, identify opportunities and prepare for international expansion. Businesses can collaborate, utilising the services of others listed on the Expert Support Directory for their international growth journey.
The DBT is a government department set up to promote trade and drive economic growth. Established in February 2023 by the merging of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and the Department for International Trade, it offers support on everything required when exploring a particular international market, while also bringing businesses together that can aid expansion.
From Algeria to Zimbabwe, it provides detailed insight on sector performance for each country, required tax legislation, the business culture and some of the challenges that may come with trading in or with each country.
