SAP Business One 10.0

SAP Business One was first launched as a global ERP system designed specifically for small and medium sized businesses in 2004.

The latest version, SAP Business One 10.0 was released at the end of 2019. SAP Business One 10.0 builds upon the existing functionality and is now on full release with quarterly updates.

SAP Business One 10.0, is available with both a Microsoft SQL and SAP HANA database. It builds on the comprehensive SAP Business One ERP functionality to provide even greater ease of use and operation in the cloud based system.

The user experience is boosted by a new and improved web client, and major improvements in the SAP integration framework 2.0. The additional predefined integration scenarios provide an ERP platform built for even greater business integration.



Features of SAP Business One 10.0:

Some of the highlights and additional functionality in this latest release of SAP Business One version 10.0 include:

New Web Client

One of the new features of SAP Business One 10.0 is the introduction of a web client. This can be accessed through SAP or a dedicated link using a browser.

The web client can be used via laptop, tablet and mobile. This provides greater flexibility for the sales team by allowing them to add information on the go. The web client covers SAP Business One core processes and business logic, focusing predominantly on sales processes and business partner information.

Sales quotations, sales orders, delivery and invoices can all be accessed and created. You can create and update business partner information and CRM functionality (activities). The web client also provides sophisticated analytic charting capabilities.

Approval Process – Improved for SAP 10.0

Using SAP Business One, the end user can create an approval process; this has been enhanced in SAP Business One 10.0. When approving a document, the end user now has a space to include the date and time when they are reviewing a document, and provide any comments they may have. Both the user and the originator can add a document for approval. This can be seen in the approval status report.

This addition of the approval status report reduces any back and forth and simplifies the approval procedures.

Enhanced User Interface

SAP Business One 10.0 has an enhanced user interface. Users can enlarge their working area by hiding the toolbar. Having an enlarged working area means users can access more widgets on their screen.

Users will also see both the company and user name clearly displayed at the top of the screen. By clicking the company name, you can view a window that allows you to access multiple companies and quickly change the company that you are working on.


SAP Business One Version 10.0 also has enhanced authorisations to increase ease of use for the end user.

Through this release, different authorisations can be granted for specific tabs within business partner and item master data. This creates greater control over user authorisations based on their individual responsibilities within the company. If a user has not been given authorisation for a tab within business partner master data, then this tab will automatically be hidden from that user.

SAP General Ledger Drilldown

The end user is now able to drill down into general ledger accounts within financial reports with SAP Business One 10.0. The user can look into a specific account record in the chart of accounts.

This level of specificity is available in the balance sheet, trial balance and profit and loss statements. The drilldown function increases transparency, providing direct access to details and balances of relevant accounts.

Enriched Interactive Project Gantt Chart

SAP Business One 10.0 provides the end user with enriched interactivity with Gantt charts.

This includes the ability to move, extend, or shorten project phases interactively; new fields for project due dates and finish dates; and automatic updates to the project based on planning changes.

The result is an improved user experience and greater visibility of project management tasks and overall project status.

EU PEPPOL E-Invoicing

EU PEPPOL E-invoicing is a new feature in the latest SAP Business One 10.0 release. This is an international electronic invoicing platform with a set of rules and specifications that enables communications with any European government institution for procurement processes.

This feature will be of great importance to businesses who have supply chain links with the NHS, and to those businesses who comply with PEPPOL in cross border procurement practices.

New UK Localisation (Brexit)

Localisation has always been one of SAP Business One’s major selling points and this is no different with the release of SAP Business One 10.0.

A new localisation has been introduced for ‘United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland’ to support the transition of Brexit. In this new localisation, digital tax and extended tax reporting are set by default.

SAP Business One has the ability to deal with these new regulations. This will mean your business to make a smooth transition in SAP post-Brexit, saving valuable time for the end user.

Office 365 integration with SAP Business One

SAP Business One 10.0 now allows for integration between Microsoft 365 and SAP Business One. Document layouts, grid results and reports can be exported into Excel and Word accordingly.

In addition to this, SAP Business One version 10 has introduced template management which provides greater flexibility in reporting and document layout management. Template management means that end users can automatically export files from SAP Business One 10.0 into OneDrive. Due to the nature of OneDrive, end users can access their exported documentation from anywhere, creating greater flexibility for workers.
